That's how many times we've been able to get our hands on Opus One's "Overture."
To say the wine is limited is an understatement!
Co-owned by Baron Philippe de Rothschild (owner of Chateau Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Clerc Milan) and in the tradition of fine Bordeaux, Overture is the second wine of Opus One.
Each year, wine is held back from the primary bottling of Opus One and blended to make Overture.
The classic blackberry and cassis character of Cabernet Sauvignon melds seamlessly with the black cherry, red currant and violet from the Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The blending of wine-lots across vintages and extended barrel aging give Overture a supple structure and silky texture.
This release of Overture is a blend of three fantastic vintages, 2014, 2015, and predominantly 2016. As a point of reference, 2016 Opus, received rave reviews such as 99 James Suckling, 98 Wine Advocate, 98 Decanter, and 97 from Jeb Dunnuck.
This silky, smooth Cabernet blend is specifically crafted to reproduce the terroir of the Opus One estate.
And it has! It is a tremendous value for Opus One fans - or fans of Cabernet Sauvignon in general.

"Overture is a blend this year of the 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages, with a dominance of 2016. This is supple with clear ripe berry fruits, generous and fully ripe, tempered by white pepper spice and smoked cedar notes. It has a gentle but confident tannic frame and mouthwatering lift on the finish. This is focused and ready to drink and impresses with its rippling silk texture."
